Lee
Lee Roy Selmon has a history that combines family scholarship football with community service. His family's first name is Selmon is the eldest of nine kids raised by Eufala by Lucious Selmon. Another reason for his football career was that Selmon is the youngest of three brothers to play with Oklahoma. All three became All-America. They made the All-America team in 1973. Lee Roy and Lucious Jr. Dewey were the starters for one year. Lee Roy is the winner of both Outland Awards as well as Lombardi Awards. He was the top lineman for the entire nation. He won two championships and 31-1-1 during his three years as the Oklahoma's starting linebacker. Third scholarship he was named an National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete in 1975. Selmon earned a degree as a teacher. Lee Roy dedicated ten volunteer time per week throughout college. Following college, he moved to Tampa played nine years with the Buccaneers was the all-pro 3 times, and began an entrepreneurial career. His first job was as an Account Relations Manager at First Florida Bank, Tampa. In the past, he worked previously for the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It's no wonder In 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy as one of America's top 10 young men. Lee Roy weighed 256 lbs and stood at a height of 6'2 inches. While he was in for college, he was the head coach of the team of 1975. In 1993, he was a part of at the University of South Florida as an associate director of athletics. Selmon has been inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame since 1988. The Oklahoma City Chapter of the National Football Foundation in 1989 awarded its Distinguished American Award to his parents, Mr. and Mrs.. Lucious Selmon Sr. Henry Bellmon is the Oklahoma governor who made this presentation.
