Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actor. Paquin is a native of Winnipeg and grew up in Wellington and made her stage debut as Flora McGrath when she played the role of Flora McGrath in The Piano. She won an Academy Award at the age of 11 years old for Best Actress Supporting Actress. The role as Flora McGrath - the daughter to a Scottish muffled pianist from New Zealand at mid-19th Century - was won by her when she attended an open audition. In her twenties her age, she was a novice or had none experience with acting. In her teens her family relocated to the United States. Paquin played Jane Eyre's protagonist as a teen in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (2000) as well as the lead role for the character in Fly Away Home (2000). Paquin played Frankie Addams from a television film version of Carson McCullers' book The Member of the Wedding (1997). Paquin played a minor role in Princess of Spain Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997. The role she played was for teenagers in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000). She also was the character of the teenage groupie Polexia Aphrodisa in Almost Famous (2000).
