She was crowned Miss Columbus in 1985 after getting the crown as well as beating her rivals. In June 1985, Miss Georgia was to be held in her honor. On June 22, she was also the winner of the tournament. Mohr was picked to represent Georgia, and the state of Georgia for Miss America 1986's pageant, held at Atlantic City New Jersey. Despite her victory, she did not place within the Top 10 to win the national title.
